MMG January 2022 News

It is so nice to have such beautiful warm weather this month to go outside and enjoy the amazing place that we live.

COVID Update

We appreciate your support whilst we work to continue to remain open during this COVID pandemic. January 2022 has been more challenging with doctors and staff requiring to isolate at times however we are committed to ensuring we are able to provide services to our patients during this time.

Our team has been able to complete several hundred COVID Pfizer vaccine boosters each week and we have opened clinics up afterhours on weeknights and on Saturdays. Our team is dedicated to providing the Pfizer vaccine to our patients aged over 12 years of age.

Unfortunately due to the overwhelming demand for vaccines for the 12 years and over age group we have been unable to provide Pfizer vaccines to the 5–11-year-old patients however the local Frankston Vaccine Hub is able to provide this service.

Booster doses for Pfizer vaccines are available pending patients eligibility. Please refer to the government website for updates to the booster program which are being constantly released. Vaccine sessions are available via our website or the Hotdocs App.

Doctor Movements

Dr Nicky Waugh

Dr Nicky Waugh finished working at Mornington Medical Group on Friday 7 January 2022 and has moved to Regional Victoria to enjoy the rural lifestyle. Dr Waugh wanted to thank all her patients for their lovely well wishes and to pass on that she will miss you.

Dr Lori Jackson

Dr Jackson is now available 4 days a week from January 2022 and is passionate about general practice.

Dr Nicole Blanks

Dr Blanks is a GP registrar in her final year of RACGP training and will be commencing with us full time on 7 February 2022 at the clinic. Dr Blanks is interested in all aspects of general practice and will be a welcome addition to our general practitioner team.

Dr Michael Dobson

Dr Dobson finishes his one-year RACGP rotation at our clinic on 6 February 2022 and will be returning to work full time at the navy. We are lucky that Dr Dobson plans to work on some Saturday mornings for us moving forward and will be able to complete aviation medicals on Saturday mornings for patients.

Doctors Leave

We were able to give several of our staff and doctors well-deserved leave between Christmas and the New Year with many of our team being unable to take leave during 2021. Our focus during 2022 is to ensure our team are able to take regular breaks during the year. The increased workload with COVID and providing COVID vaccines in addition to our general practice services has seen our team have increased demands placed on them over the past 2 years. We appreciate your support.
