COVID Vaccine Booster Dose

COVID Vaccine Booster Dose

The team at Mornington Medical Group would like to thank our community for keeping us safe and open during the COVID pandemic. We have appreciated your support during this time.

We remind all patients that you must wear a mask when you attend our clinic.  Patients are able to come into the clinic to see their doctor for all appointments.  Telehealth appointments are available to patients who have seen a doctor in the past 12 months to obtain a Medicare rebate for this service.

We have AstraZeneca and Pfizer COVID vaccines in stock. ATGI have approved the administration of booster doses of the Covid19 vaccine for those patients over 18 years. Booster doses are not mandatory; however they are recommended to maintain immunity against Covid19.

Booster doses of the covid vaccine are likely to be administered using the Pfizer vaccine regardless of the vaccine received for the first two doses.  If your preference is to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine as the booster dose please discuss this with your general practitioner.

Booster doses can be given 6 months after the completion of your primary Covid19 vaccine course (i.e. at least 6 months after the date you received your second dose).  Patients will be able to book an appointment on line via our booking system when they are eligible for a booster vaccine. Our on-line booking system has appointments 4 weeks in advance.  If you have any questions please speak to your doctor.
